DRIVE OR RIDE

We use "drive" when we refer to controlling a vehicle with four or more wheels (bus, trucks, vans, cars, etc).

"Ride" is used when you are the passenger. ("Ride in" for trains and cars and "Ride on" for buses) E.g. John drove the car while his children rode in the back. (Drove and rode are past tense forms of drive and ride respectively)

"Ride" is also used when we refer to controlling two-wheeled vehicle (bicycle, motorcycle, scooter, etc.) or straddling an animal. E.g. I ride on a horse/motorcycle.
